Apple Pledges Donation To European Flood Relief Efforts

Apple CEO Tim Cook has pledged (via a Twitter post) that Apple will make donations to the relief effort following severe floods across Western Europe.

The tweet does not specify, however, how much money Apple will contribute to the relief efforts.

More than 125 people have died, after floods destroyed homes and infrastructure in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. Another 1,300 people are still missing. According to Reuters, some 114,000 households in Germany did not have access to power as of Friday.

Apple frequently donates money to relief efforts after natural disasters, and made a number of charitable efforts to combat the COVID pandemic. Cook himself donated $5m of Apple shares to an undisclosed charity last August.
